WINNERS OF THE FUND FOR THE PROMOTION OF WEST AFRICAN CULTURES (2023)

At the end of its fourth and final call for projects, which closed on 30 December 2022, the ACP-EU Culture Programme – AWA approved 34 projects for funding, of which 1/3 are women’s initiatives. The projects cover 11 countries in the region.

WINNERS OF THE FUND FOR THE PROMOTION OF WEST AFRICAN CULTURES (2022)

Following the third call for projects, which closed on 17 March 2022, the ACP-EU Culture – West Africa Evaluation Committee has selected 35 winners who will benefit from the Enhancing Culture Fund.

The objective of this call is to provide beneficiaries with a maximum grant of EUR 25,000 over one year to enhance the value of cultural and creative content in West Africa, by promoting support for creation and production, image education and the development of means of dissemination and distribution (physical and digital) of cultural goods.

This call for projects aroused real interest among West African cultural operators in view of the very high quality of the responses and the mobilisation of 176 applications from 15 out of 16 countries in the region.

WINNERS OF THE STRUCTURING FUND FOR CULTURAL OPERATORS

Launched in March 2021, the ACP-EU Culture Structuring Fund provides financial support and capacity building to 15 West African cultural operators.

By means of a three-year structuring grant and professional support, the fund will enable operators to develop their project and make it sustainable.

2022

  • Call 4: Valorisation Fund for West African cultures

On 21 November, the ACP-EU Culture Programme – AWA launched its latest call for proposals in support of organisations and professionals in the cultural and creative sectors in West Africa. 

This latest call aims to enhance the cultural and creative content of the region, by supporting creation and production, image education and the development of means of dissemination and distribution (physical and digital) of cultural goods.

The guidelines of the call are available on the website of the Kôrè Cultural Centre.

  • Call 3: Valorisation Fund for West African cultures

On 21 January, our West African cluster launched a third call for projects entitled “Fonds de valorisation” – within the framework of its “AWA Programme” action, which will close on 17 March. More information on https://koresegou.org

2021

  • Call 2: Structuring Fund for cultural operators

Out of 85 proposals from 13 countries in the region, 15 projects in various fields of culture have received grants up to 150.000 Euros, for a global amount of EUR 2 250 000.

  • Call 1: Promotion of West African cultures

Out of 112 proposals from 12 West African countries, 27 projects have been granted amounts up to 25.000 Euros, for a global support of EUR 657 000.
