Women’s entrepreneurship in the ACP film and audiovisual industry

In the framework of the 14th edition of the “Elles Tournent-Dames Draaien” Festival, and in partnership with the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF), the ACP-EU Culture Programme is organising a hybrid panel on “Strengthening entrepreneurship of women directors and producers in ACP countries”.

In most ACP countries, women have yet to fully realise their social, economic, political and cultural rights. Culture and creativity represent a privileged area for achieving long-term positive behavioural change. From this point of view, cinema and audiovisual media are particularly influential in image education and changing mentalities.

This panel, which will be held in a hybrid format, will update the ongoing reflection on the entrepreneurship of ACP directors and producers and outline perspectives for a more equitable access to funding.
