The Anim’Ato Mada 2023 training residency took place as part of the 18th Madagascourt Festival. From 30 October to 15 December, ten animators from Africa and the Indian Ocean islands underwent intensive training in animation.
Following a call for applications in August, ten successful candidates with some knowledge of animation, in particular 2D, 3D and motion design, were selected to follow a seven-week training course in “volume animation” in Madagascar.
The technicians received professional training from six experienced trainers. By moving from theory to practice, they are now able to create and animate professional puppets during filming. The main objective of this initiative was to strengthen the technical skills of the participants with a view to improving the quality of audiovisual and film productions in their home countries.
