Nairobi: EU to launch EU Youth Empowerment Fund

Marking the first anniversary of the Youth Action Plan in the framework of the EU’s external action, the European Commission and the “Big Six” – the six largest youth organisations – will announce the launch of a new partnership to implement the EU Youth Empowerment Fund.

The launch will take place online on Wednesday 4 October 2023 from 15:00 to 16:00 (CEST) and will be broadcast live from the YouTube and Facebook pages of the EU Delegation in Kenya.

An integral part of the Youth Action Plan, the European Youth Empowerment Fund is a €10 million pilot initiative that will provide direct financial support to youth-led initiatives in the EU’s partner countries around the world. It will focus primarily on implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at local level, particularly in the areas of the environment, climate change and the inclusion of young people in vulnerable situations and from disadvantaged backgrounds.
