Central Africa: ACP-EU Culture to host its 2nd regional meeting

Against the backdrop of the “Feux de Brazza” Festival, the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and the European Union (EU) are organising a regional meeting in Central Africa as part of the ACP-EU Culture Programme’s support for the creative and cultural sectors.

This event, organised in conjunction with the 2nd Networking Event of the ACP-EU Culture Consortium “Creating in Central Africa” (CAC), will take place from 6 to 10 December 2022, simultaneously in Brazzaville, in association with the relaunch of the Popular and International Festival of Traditional Music “Feux de Brazza”, and in Kinshasa. It is placed under the presidency of the Ministries of Culture of the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The regional meeting aims in particular to ensure the visibility of the “Create in Central Africa” programme as a regional component of the ACP-EU Culture programme, to enhance the results achieved so far, to contribute to the advocacy with national and regional authorities for increased support to the cultural and creative sectors and to establish a privileged framework for meetings and exchanges between the OACPS and the EU, including their representations at regional level and African cultural operators.

Under the title “Innovating through partnership: the challenge of financing CCIs and culture in Central Africa”, the 2nd CAC Consortium Networking Event will focus on the complementarity and diversification of cultural financing and self-financing systems through the development of innovative economic models. The programme will include a series of training, capacity building and networking activities for grant recipients and cultural operators from Central Africa.

The different sessions will also be broadcast online HERE.
