Call for applications: DEENTAL cross-regional workshop | From the Great Lakes to the Senegal River

In collaboration with DOCUBOX (Kenya), FOPICA (Senegal), the Great Lakes Creative Producers Lab (Kenya) and the Saint-Louis’ Docs festival (Senegal), the DEENTAL ACP programme is organising a specific programme for producers from East Africa (Great Lakes countries) and West Africa (WAEMU countries).

In this context, a call for applications is being organised to facilitate the selection of five producers from East Africa (Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda) and five others from West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo) to take part.

The programme will be held in two sessions:

the first will be held in Nairobi from 6 to 10 November 2023 at the Great Lakes Creative Producers Lab,
the second in Saint-Louis-du-Sénégal in the last week of April 2024, as part of the Saint Louis Docs festival.

The programme is open to producers that :

• are nationals of one of the countries on the following list: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo and Uganda.
• are able to communicate professionally in English.
• have produced at least 2 short films or 1 feature film.
• have a feature film project in development (Applicants must have the rights – option, transfer of rights contract – to produce the script).

To be eligible, the producer cannot be the writer and/or director of the project submitted.
