Biennale of Luanda: Pan-African Forum for the culture of peace

From 27 November to 2 December 2021, the Angolan capital will host the second edition of the Luanda Biennale – the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace. Organised in partnership between UNESCO, the Angolan government and the African Union, the Biennale aims to promote the prevention of violence and the resolution of conflicts, by encouraging cultural exchanges in Africa, dialogue between generations and the promotion of gender equality. A space for reflection and dissemination of artistic works, ideas and good practices related to the culture of peace, the Biennale brings together representatives of governments, civil society, the artistic and scientific community and international organisations.

On this occasion, the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States and its privileged partner, the European Union, will present their joint actions in support of the cultural and creative sectors for peace and economic and social development.

The 2021 edition will feature a hybrid format combining face-to-face and digital elements and will be entirely streamed on the Bienniale TV.
