Apply Now: EUNIC Cluster Fund Call for Proposals 2023

The EUNIC Fund, a global platform for cultural cooperation, is inviting clusters from around the world to submit their proposals by the deadline of 6 November 2023. This year’s call for proposals features an optional thematic focus on culture and climate action, encouraging applicants to explore the climate crisis through innovative cultural activities. The emphasis in this unique programme is on creating significant synergies between culture and climate action.

Continuing its commitment to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, the EUNIC General Assembly established climate action as a major priority in June 2022. This decision gave rise to the EUNIC Climate Culture(s) Creative Lab, a collaborative project focused on this issue, implemented from March to June 2023 as part of the Goethe-Institut’s EUNIC presidency for the period 2022-2023. As a result, the Cluster Fund 2023 welcomes projects that integrate the climate crisis at the heart of their cultural initiatives, thus proactively merging culture and climate action. While this priority is strongly encouraged, it is important to note that proposals with different objectives remain welcome and eligible, underlining the diversity of perspectives and ideas within the EUNIC community.

The call is open to all EUNIC clusters, inviting them to submit their cultural relations projects by the deadline of Monday 6 November 2023. Under this call, clusters can apply for funding of up to €20,000, which can cover up to 60% of the total project budget. Proposals submitted must meet certain key requirements, including the participation of at least three full members of EUNIC, close collaboration with leading local cultural partners, and encouragement to work closely, where appropriate, with the European Union Delegation or European Commission Representation. Potential partners may come from both civil society and public bodies, thus opening the way for a diversity of actors in the realisation of innovative cultural projects.
