ACP-EU Culture, a proud participant at the Cannes Film Festival!

For the third consecutive year since its inception, the ACP-EU Culture programme will be present at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, and this year promises to be exceptional! Three films supported by the programme will be showcased, highlighting the cinematic and cultural talent of African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries:

  • “Banel & Adama” by the young director Ramata-Toulaye Sy (Senegal), in the official competition.
  • “Augure” by Baloji Tshiani (Democratic Republic of Congo), presented in the “Un Certain Regard” selection.
  • “Nome” by Sana Na N’Hada (Guinea-Bissau), programmed by the “Association du Cinéma Indépendant pour sa Diffusion (ACID)”.

  • 16:00-17:00: DEENTAL in Cannes

For the third edition of DEENTAL in Cannes, six producers from Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Haiti, Madagascar and the Dominican Republic have been selected to participate in a week of training, workshops and meetings.

  • 9:30-12:00: Meet the Funds

Meeting between directors and producers, where the main international funds will introduce themselves to producers from all over the world.

  • 15:00-18:00: Rendezvous of French-speaking producers

  • 15:30: Screening of “Banel & Adama” by Ramata Toulaye-Sy

  • 9:00-10:00: ACP-EU Culture Technical Meeting
  • 11:30-13:00 : Official announcement of the winners of the May 2023 selection of the Fonds Image de la Francophonie

22 May 2023

  • 11:00 : Screening of the film ” Augure ” by Baloji Tshiani
  • 12:00 : North-South funds meeting

Meeting between directors of funds and national film centres from Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Portugal, Quebec, Switzerland, European Union.
