“Clap ACP” funds 10 films in support to the South-South film industry

Six months after the launch of the Clap ACP project, the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie and its partner, the Ivorian Film Support Fund (FONSIC) presented the results of their first round of funding to support the co-production of films and series from the South, during the Cannes International Film Market, which took place from 22 to 26 June 2020.

In the framework of the ACP-EU Culture Programme, Clap ACP has just awarded its financial bonus to ten projects (feature films and documentaries) produced by directors from Africa and the Caribbean.

Among the beneficiaries are top names such as Chloé Aïcha Boro from Burkina Faso, winner of the Ouagadougou Pan-African Film Festival (FESPACO) and Dieudo Hamadi (Democratic Republic of Congo), whose feature film ‘En route pour le milliard’ (On the Road to the Billion) was included in this year’s Cannes selection.
